Hi, I’m Rhea.

Founder of The Support Circle
Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner
Masters in Criminology

I have years of experience working in the rehabilitation space across the justice system, walking with someone’s child, someone’s sibling, someone’s loved one as they made better choices. When asked what mattered most to them, the answer was so often the family and friends who had not given up on them. While we put so much focus on supporting the person who is changing, we often forget about the people walking alongside them. They need support too.

Who I am A little about me and why I built this

I have years of experience working with people in the justice system, most of that time facilitating behaviour change programs in prison. I’ve sat with people through some of the hardest work of their lives, supporting them to build awareness, take responsibility, and challenge the beliefs that keep them caught in a cycle of crime, and to see that there’s an alternative to the life they’ve known, if that’s the path they choose.

It was through this that I kept thinking about the people on the outside. The mums, the dads, the partners, the siblings, the children, the friends. Anyone left waiting, worrying, and picking up the pieces from a choice they never made.

Something I learnt through all of this is that change doesn’t happen in isolation. The support around a person genuinely shapes their journey, and research consistently shows it’s one of the biggest factors in helping someone rebuild their life.

You are more powerful in this than you probably realise.

What I’ve also come to understand is that supporting someone through change is hard. Often our hopes for them sit higher than where they actually are, which can leave you feeling frustrated, disheartened, and unsure whether anything you do is making a difference. When you can meet your loved one where they truly are, rather than where you wish they were, everything shifts. It helps you support them in a way that works, and it protects you from carrying disappointment and exhaustion on top of everything else.

That’s exactly what this program is here for. To give you the knowledge, tools, and understanding to support your loved one in a way that genuinely helps, while making sure you’re supported too. You don’t have to figure this out on your own.

What this is The Support Circle · 10 sessions · Perth, South West & online

The Support Circle is a small group program for families, friends, and support people navigating their way through supporting someone in the justice system.

Ten sessions of structured and educational content that is built on experience from within the justice system.

More than anything, this is a journey we walk together. From the very first session, you’ll be met with understanding, never judgement. You’ll build real knowledge and practical skills, gain a deeper understanding of your loved one and yourself, and learn how to support them in a way that genuinely helps, without losing yourself along the way.

You won’t do any of it alone. The people beside you understand your world because they’re living it too, and when the program ends, the support doesn’t. You’ll leave with connections that last, tools you’ll carry for life, and a renewed sense of confidence in yourself as you navigate this chapter of your life.

What you’ll learn and take away The skills, tools, and understanding you’ll keep

This is a structured, ten-session program with real depth, built on years of experience working within the justice system and alongside people working to change their lives. Here is some of what you will walk away with:

  • Understand where they’re at

And why change doesn’t always happen when you want it to.

  • Make sense of their behaviour

And understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

  • Understand your own role

And how the way you respond can influence the relationship.

  • Know when support is helpful

And when it may unintentionally keep things stuck.

  • Protect your own wellbeing

Without feeling like you’re abandoning the person you care about.

  • Have the difficult conversations

With greater confidence, clarity and less conflict.

  • Look after yourself along the way

So supporting someone doesn’t come at the cost of your own life.

  • Navigate setbacks and relapse

Without feeling like everything has fallen apart.

  • Prepare for what comes next

Including transition, release and returning to the community.

  • Support children through the experience

With age-appropriate ways to talk about what’s happening.

  • Take practical tools with you

Strategies you can continue using long after the program ends.

  • Build genuine connection

With people who understand the experience without needing it explained.

  • Find some room to breathe again

Because supporting someone shouldn’t mean losing yourself.

...and so much more than words can capture here.

This might be for you

Does any of this feel familiar?

Someone I love is in prison, on remand, on bail, on parole, or heading down a path that keeps me up at night.
I’m holding it all together on the outside while quietly falling apart on the inside.
I carry a weight I can’t always talk about, and a shame that isn’t even mine to hold.
I lie awake wondering if I’m helping or making it worse, if I’m doing too much or not enough.
I love them, but some days I don’t know how much more I can give.
I want to understand what’s really going on, and how to actually help, without losing myself in the process.
I feel like I can’t share my experience with anybody, because no one will understand.
I feel so alone.
